How Does it Work?

Microneedling uses tiny pricks along the skin to trigger the body’s natural healing process. This helps stimulate the production of new collagen within the tissue. Collagen is a natural protein found within the body. It is used to help hold areas of the body together and provides strength and elasticity to the skin. As we age, our collagen production decreases, which leads to fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin.
VirtueRF microneedling is unique because the microneedle tip transmits radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of tissue. The skin will then form new elastin and collagen, creating a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Once your treatment is complete, VirtueRF uses a state-of-the-art electro-current mask. Your Experience with VirtueRF Microneedling

Before your VirtueRF session begins, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area. This will take hold after 30 to 45 minutes, leaving the skin numb and ready for treatment. Your specialist will establish the correct needle depth and radiofrequency settings based on your skin’s sensitivity and concerns and enter them into the VirtueRF system. They will then place the tip of the handpiece on the skin and start the treatment. You may experience some pressure as the device is placed throughout the skin. After this is complete specific serums will be used and allowed to soak into the skin. Microneedling allows serums to penetrate more deeply into the skin and achieve optimal results.

After Your Treatment

Once the microneedling treatment is complete, our Manhattan patients should avoid the sun while the skin is healing. In the days following treatment, you will begin to see a “glow” about your skin due to the serums that have deeply penetrated the skin. Over the next few months, you will see your skin continue to improve gradually. Most patients experience their full results after three months.

Some patients may require multiple treatments to achieve their desired results or may require more time for their results to take shape. Those requiring multiple treatments are generally asked to space their treatments out every six weeks. VirtueRF can also be combined with other facial treatments, including injectables or fillers.
